How to Prepare Photographs for a Website Project

Original photographs help establish credibility and show customers what the business, work and people actually look like.

Upload to the shared Google Drive folder the highest-quality original files available. Images downloaded from social media, inserted into documents or sent through text messages may be compressed and unsuitable for larger website layouts.

Useful photographs may include:

  • Completed work
  • Services in progress
  • Products or equipment
  • Business interiors and exteriors
  • Team members
  • Before-and-after examples
  • Details that demonstrate process or workmanship

Avoid sending many nearly identical images. Select photographs that show different services, environments, angles and stages of the work.

Use general descriptive filenames such as:

completed-project-main-view.jpg

team-working-on-site.jpg

service-before-and-after.jpg

Photographs should only be submitted when the business has permission to publish them. Remove private documents, customer information, vehicle plates or other identifying details when necessary.
